Now here is an old set of photos... This is from a trip that Satomi and took with our friends Steve and Susan way back in 1989, a few months before we were married. Steve and Susan were living in Oakland at the time, and had met Satomi perhaps once (or perhaps never?) before this trip. Steve and I made rather loose plans for the trip, which involved a flight to Mexico City, two nights there, then an overnight train to Oaxaca where we spent a few days enjoying the town and the nearby Monte Alban ruins. Oaxaca was a wonderful town, a state capitol with a thriving market, arts scene and very few tourists. These pictures are scanned from prints...
