Oahu, April 2007

I was invited to speak at an IEEE conference in Honolulu, and we decided to make a vacation around it. Julian, Satomi and I stayed in a condo in Waikiki, and used a rental car to see different parts of the island. These are some of the many pictures, and others can be found in our SmugMug gallery.

Lesser Honolulu...

Adult Video, Drug and Sandwiches. The Japanese translation of "SANDWICH" on the window is wrong. Whoever wrote it rendered the word in Japanese katakana as sen-to-i-chi ("sen-tow-ee-chee") instead of san-do-ichi. So instead of "sandwich" the translation means "one thousand and one".

The Royal Grove Hotel at Waikiki has seen better days.
